Sean Dwyer won the Unlimited Grand Prix race in the CCS Regional event at Roebling Road Raceway Saturday afternoon, July 10 with a .001 second margin of victory at the finish line. Nate Kern had led the race on his BMW S1000RR from the start of the eight lap sprint race and quickly opened a gap on second place Dwyer on his GSXR1000. Dwyer used lap traffic to his advantage to close the gap on the leader and pass him on the front straight in the last lap of the race to take the checkered flag in what could best be described as a photo finish. Kern won the first race of the day, GTO, after nabbing the holeshot, opening a gap on the rest of the pack, and running away with the win. Dwyer finished second. Lightweight frontrunner, Kevin Mendez, dominated his events and won the most classes on day one of the weekend event. Mendez finished first in all three of his races, GT Lights, Lightweight Formula 40, and Thunderbike. Stefano Mesa won the last and most action packed race of the day, Middleweight Grand Prix after nabbing an early lead. Behind him, Santiago Villa and Daniel Guevara were maneuvering through traffic in a battle for second place. After the halfway mark, the race became a three-way fight to the finish with constant position swapping. Guevara passed the leader, ran wide and got repassed by Mesa, then Villa. In the final lap, Mesa maintained his advantage while Guevara and Villa ran off the track in turn four and out of the battle for the lead. Mesa crossed the finish line ahead of James Cohrs, Guevara finished third, and Villa fourth. UNLIMITED GRAND PRIX RESULTS: 1. Sean Dwyer (Suz GSX-R1000); 2. Nate Kern (BMW S1000RR); 3.
