Dunlop Tires win 3 out of 4 major West Coast Club overall #1 plates for 2007 race season. That’s right! 3 out of 4 major West Coast #1 plates, were won using Dunlop Tires! Most of the race wins were achieved on Dunlop’s all new “N-Tec” tires. (“N-Tec” = “New Technology”) rear racing DOTs and Slicks! #1. WMRRA Club, Up north, in the Great State of Washington, Eli Edwards was the rider who amassed the most points and was awarded the #1 plate in the WMRRA race series for 2007. Eli rode his Suzuki GSXR 600 and 750 — sponsored by “Seattle 100” with considerable help from Barry Wressell of KFG (“Kung Fu Grip,” Dunlop’s race tire dealer for the Oregon and Washington clubs, located in Auburn, WA.) Congratulations to both Eli and Barry! #2. AFM Club, In the hotly contested Northern California AFM club races, it was none other than David Stanton, riding his Mach-1 Motorsports, Yamaha R-1 to the overall points total win and #1 plate in the Formula Pacific Championship!! Terry Newby, co-owner of Sport Tire Services, Dunlop’s West Coast Race Tire Distributor, was very happy after winning back that overall #1 plate for Dunlop again, saying, “David rode very fast and smart all year! He’s number one for a very good reason, he did the best job of riding the bike, on THE best tires available to club racers in the U.S.A.! Dunlop “N-Tec” slicks and DOTs!” Congrats to David Stanton and the guys at Mach -1 Motorsports! #3. WSMC Club, For the 8th year in a row, Dunlop wins the #1 plate at “The Fastest Road in the West”, Willow Springs International Raceway! This year it was a rider who has never won the coveted WSMC #1 plate before. Karl Lowery, of Riverside California, riding his Hyper Cycle Suzuki GSXR 750 and a Graves Motorsports Yamaha R-1, with additional help from North County House of Motorcycles! Karl won the #1 plate over Jeff Stern of Las Vegas, NV also on Dunlop Tires. (In fact the final points tally for this year’s overall WSMC Club Championship, show that #1 through #7 plated riders were all on Dunlop tires) Gabe Smith, who now manages the Dunlop service at Willow Springs Raceway for Sport Tire Services Inc. said, “I’m proud to report that all of our Dunlop riders have done a great job of showing how to win at Willow! Karl Lowery especially had a spectacular race season! Thank you Karl!!!!!” “We are very much looking forward to starting the 2008 race season!” says Dennis Smith of Sport Tire Services Inc. “It looks like we’ll have a good supply of the “N-Tec” Slicks and DOTs available to our racers and also our Race Track Vendors out West.” “With the word spreading around the pits, about the “drive grip and long life” of the new Dunlop “N-Tec” tires, we are hoping for an even better 2008 season!” added Smith.
