Claudio Domenicali appointed new Chairman of MSMA (Motorcycle Sports Manufacturers’ Association)

Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), 6th May 2018 – The MSMA Members’ General Meeting, held at Jerez de la Frontera during the Spanish GP, has elected Claudio Domenicali (CEO of Ducati Motor Holding SpA) as the new Chairman of MSMA for the next two years.

With this appointment, an Italian motorcycle constructor once again returns to the top of the manufacturers’ association, confirming the importance and commitment that Ducati dedicates to the sport, and to the relevant synergies that all these activities generate for the development of new products and the involvement of its own community.

“It is an honour to accept this role, both in person and in my capacity as CEO of Ducati Motor Holding”, commented Claudio Domenicali on thanking the assembly for the nomination. “Ducati now holds this position for the first time in twenty-seven years of MSMA activity. In facing up to this task, we are fully committed to making an important contribution to the further growth and professionalism of the sporting activities that see the participation of the world’s most important motorcycle manufacturers.”

MSMA (Motorcycle Sports Manufacturers’ Association), formerly known as GPMA, was established in 1992 to represent the interests of the manufacturers involved in racing during the meetings with the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), the various promoters and the teams’ associations.

Mr. Domenicali succeeds Mr. Katsuhide Moriyama (Honda Motor Corporation), the previous MSMA Chairman.
