Ducati North America is hosting a press intro for the 2005 Ducati 999R homologation special at Laguna Seca Raceway today.

Which is why there is no practice going on for this weekend’s AMA races, which are held in conjunction with World Superbike at the Monterey, California racetrack.

The production machines being introduced to the press today were built to meet AMA requirements for homologation of the Ducati Eric Bostrom rides in the AMA Superbike Series.
