With only a few moments remaining in AMA Superbike qualifying, HMC Ducati’s Doug Chandler highsided his Ducati 998RS Superbike in turn three of Road Atlanta and slid into the inflatable air barriers outside of the turn. Chandler’s point of impact was within a few feet of where Anthony Gobert hit Friday, breaking Gobert’s right leg.

Chandler appeared to be uninjured in the crash and walked, under his own power, into the back of an ambulance.

According to Wendy Hogge, HMC Ducati’s Press Officer, Chandler is completely uninjured.

At the time of his crash, Chandler was sixth-fastest with a best time of 1:24.215.
