Jason DiSalvo rode his Dunlop-tired Graves Yamaha YZF-R1 to his fourth consecutive AMA Superstock pole position during qualifying Saturday at Road America. DiSalvo’s time of 2:15.048, a new lap record (beating Aaron Gobert’s previous mark of 2:15.781), also earned him a bonus Championship point, giving him sole possession of second place in the Championship standings, one point ahead of Aaron Yates and one point behind Jamie Hacking. Hacking is not racing at Road America due to an injury suffered in a training accident, but Yates qualified second with a time of 2:15.420 around the four-mile road course. Kawasaki’s Tommy Hayden drafted Team M4 EMGO Suzuki’s Michael Barnes on the last lap to turn a 2:15.776, earning the third spot on the Superstock front row. Barnes was fourth-fastest with a 2:15.889 on his Pirelli-equipped GSX-R1000. Provisional AMA Superstock Qualifying Results: 1. Jason DiSalvo, Yamaha, 2:15.048 2. Aaron Yates, Suzuki, 2:15.420 3.
