DiSalvo Also Takes Pole Position In AMA Supersport At VIR

Jason DiSalvo rode his factory Yamaha YZF-R6 to pole position in AMA Supersport qualifying Saturday at VIR, setting a new lap record time of 1:26.781.

The old lap record of 1:27.506 was set in 2003 by Damon Buckmaster, who qualified second Saturday with a 1:26.927 on his Yamaha. Defending AMA Supersport Champion Jamie Hacking qualified third with a 1:27.563, just ahead of current Championship leader Tommy Hayden, who was fourth-fastest with a 1:27.633 on his factory Kawasaki ZX-6RR.
