Daytona 200 Will Be Open To All Tire Brands

74th Daytona 200 Tire Requirements

Fort Worth Texas – The American SportBike Racing Association in conjunction with the Daytona International Speedway would like to announce that all tire manufacturers are invited to participate in the74th Daytona 200 scheduled to run March 14, 2015.

With input from riders, crews and the tire manufacturers themselves, the ASRA Rules Committee agreed that opening the event to all tire brands would be the best option for the running of the 2015 event. In accordance with this decision, Section 6.1.2.H. will be modified to read:

H. Tire choice is open to the competitor, DOT approved, racing slicks or commercially available wet weather tires are permitted for 2015. Competitors are responsible evaluate the individual product and assess the suitability for this event.

The American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) is the parent organization to the Championship Cup Series (CCS), the largest amateur motorcycle road racing organization in the United States issuing over 3,000 licenses per year. ASRA promotes eight AMA sanctioned Sprint Series and eight AMA sanctioned Team Challenge road racing events for 2015.
