Former AMA Superbike racer Dale Quarterley finished third in the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 200 stock car race June 11 at Sonoma Raceway, in Sonoma, California.

Driving a Van Dyk Recycling Solutions/Motul Chevrolet, Quarterley, age 61, finished 0.678 second behind runner-up Colby Howard and only 1.052 seconds behind winner – and series point leader – Jake Drew at the end of the 56-lap race.

The race was stopped eight laps short and while under caution due to “time constraints” during the NASCAR weekend, according to the ARCA Series website.

It was Quarterley’s best finish in the series since he took second place in a race at Irwindale Speedway in 2004.
