The Central Roadracing Association (CRA) held round 4 of the
2019 season August 31 – September 1 at Brainerd International Raceway on the Competition Course. The
weekend was filled with many competitive races and close finishes in the Expert
classes. Justin Miest was able to take home seven race wins in multiple classes
including the overall victory in the GP 3/4 Michelin Cup on the Nielsen Racing
Yamaha R6. He maintains his points lead heading into the final event of the
year. Nate Minster also continued his dominating show of form winning almost
every race he entered. He finished the weekend with eight total victories in
the Middleweight and Heavyweight classes. Former CRA champion, Brian Hebeisen
took home victories in seven total races including multiple on the Fisk
Brothers Racing Yamaha R6 in Middleweight and Heavyweight.
The Unlimited class saw close battles for the win in almost
every race. Jake Schmotter took home four wins and podiums in the other two
unlimited races on his Yamaha R1. Jesse Nelson came in second five times with
one victory. Shane Keaveny Also finished the weekend with a victory and
multiple podiums.
Last year’s CRA champion, Kyle Ohnsorg, made an epic return
just months after a freak motocross accident. He entered three races in the
Featherweight class and was able to pick up right where he left off winning all
three races. Round 5 of CRA is shaping up to be an interesting weekend of
racing with Sunday hosting the annual 5 hour endurance event and the Framstad
