Canadian Superbike Champ Szoke Wins Mountain Bike Race In Canada

Szoke Wins First Mountain Bike Event at Kelso

Jordan Szoke, defending Canadian Superbike Champion sprinted into the lead at Kelso Mountian Bike Race Series held on Tuesday May 21st and remained there until the end. Szoke finished in first place 1 min 46 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. Jordan completed the 20km / 3lap event in 49 min 55 sec.

“We rushed back from our testing at the RACE regionals in order to make this event.” smiles Szoke “I am pretty glad I did!”

The Weekly Kelso Mountian Bike Race Series is held at the Kelso Conservation Area, with a full calendar hosting 14 races plus a finale event at the end of the season. The series has welcomed many professional O-Cup and Canada Cup racers offering a good training ground with some of the best climbs that Southern Ontario has to offer.

“There was a big turnout at this event tonight, there were a lot of fellow competitors that just returned from the Canada Cup race in Mont Tremblant over the weekend. It is pretty awesome to have the opportunity to race against all of them tonight, the talent pool ran deep and the win didn’t come easy.” says Szoke.

Jordan plans to continue to represent Bicycle Works in the Kelso series and schedule allowing, challenge the very best in a few Ontario Cup Series Races.

“Seeing as Bicycke Works is the title sponsor for the series this year, it was pretty special to bring home the win wearing their jersey.”
