Vickers strikes twice to be Honda Racing UK’s home round hero

Ryan Vickers delivered a Bank Holiday Monday to remember for the Honda Racing UK team, celebrating his second double race win of the season in as many rounds in the British Superbike Championship at the team’s home round of Cadwell Park.

Vickers had a disastrous opening race of the weekend when he crashed out contention as Rory Skinner celebrated his first victory of 2026, but the Honda Racing UK rider redeemed himself with a Bank Holiday haul of wins.

In race two, Vickers launched off the line into the lead on the opening lap, with Skinner, Bradley Ray and Kyle Ryde locked in behind him. However, Skinner was unable to repeat his race one victory when he crashed out of contention on lap five at Charlies.

Vickers meanwhile was holding strong at the front, despite the constant pressure from Ray behind him in second place. He held the edge to the chequered flag by 0.282s to hold off the McAMS Yamaha contender with Ryde back on the podium in third place for Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing.

Leon Haslam had been constantly holding off the chasing pack for fourth place for the Moto Rapido Racing team with Joe Talbot claiming his first top five finish in his rookie season for the AJN Steelstock bimota team.

Vickers then continued his winning momentum into the final race of the Main Season as the stage is now set for the Showdown at the TT Circuit Assen next month.

Vickers once again got a lightning start to hit the front of the pack on the opening lap ahead of Ray and Ryde, but the reigning champion was instantly on the attack and made a move for second into Park for the first time.

Skinner was into third by lap four, but the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha rider slid out of the race at the Chicane.

Ray was back into second when he attacked at Mansfield and then was on the hunt for Vickers, but despite piling on the pressure, he couldn’t get ahead of his Honda Racing UK rival.

Ryde meanwhile had Talbot for company for most of the race as the rookie delivered his best performance of the season to take fourth for the AJN Steelstock bimota team. The reigning champion held on to claim third and with it the Pirelli King of the Mountain trophy.
