Dorna and H3G launch live broadcast of MotoGP races for mobile phones in Italy This weekend’s betandwin.com British Grand Prix will be a date to remember in the history of MotoGP, as it will be the first race ever that fans will be able to watch live through their mobile telephones. As a first step, the experience will be initially available in Italy throughout the remaining of the 2005 season thanks to the agreement between Dorna Sports, the company that holds the rights to MotoGP, and H3G, the Italian UMTS operator linked to the Hutchison group. Sunday’s MotoGP race from Donington Park at 16:30 Italian time will see the launch of this pioneer service that will be provided through 3, H3G’s commercial brand for new generation mobiles. Dorna and H3G started their partnership for the development of products for third generation mobile phones back in 2004 with the download of video highlights and near-live video clips (5-minute delayed action) from MotoGP races, which has proved to be a success. The plan now is that Dorna can extend this same service to other countries in collaboration with major national telecom operators.
