TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (August 10, 2009) “”The Yamaha Champions Riding School at Miller Motorsports Park announced today that a group of past and present Yamaha Champions will be participating at the school as guest instructors through the end of September. These special guests will join the five-man Yamaha Champions Riding School instructors, a group of riders who continue to amass class, club and national roadracing championships throughout the United States. “The Yamaha Champions Riding School helps any rider learn to ride the way the best in the world ride,” said lead instructor Nick Ienatsch. “Having guest instructors who have won at the highest levels of motorcycle racing throughout the world brings that experience closer to the students and also provides an experience most enthusiasts can only imagine.” Understanding that the best riders in the world are also the safest is a key element to learning how to ride. “The best riders in the world, like Valentino Rossi and Ben Spies, understand that you do not win races by falling down,” said Yamaha Champions Riding School instructor Ken Hill. “These riders do certain things that help them to consistently ride faster and safer than others. By learning these skills we can also ride safer in any condition, on any bike, any time.” Yamaha’s commitment to rider education and safety is key to supporting the Yamaha Champions Riding School and helping to bring champions to take part in the school. “Yamaha understands the value of helping riders to improve their riding skills,” said Bob Starr, Division Manager with Yamaha Motorsports Group USA. “We are committed to providing students who desire to learn and improve their riding the opportunity to learn face to face from the best riders in the world.” The current schedule (which is tentative and subject to change) for Yamaha Champions to attend the school includes: August 17-18: Scott Russell 1993 World Superbike Champion, 1992 AMA Superbike Champion, 1990-92 AMA Supersport Champion; and Brandon Currie 2007-2009 AMA Supermoto Lites Champion August 24: Ben Spies 2006-2008 AMA Superbike Champion, multi-time 2009 World Superbike race winner September 22-23: Josh Hayes 2003 AMA Superstock Champion, 2006-2007 AMA Formula Xtreme Champion, two-time 2009 AMA Superbike race winner September 22-23: Melissa Paris Only female to qualify for a World-Supersport event (2009 Miller Motorsports Park round), USGPRU 250GP Winner September 28-29: Ben Bostrom 1998 AMA Superbike Champion, 2001 World-Superbike multi-race winner, 2004 AMA Supermoto Champion and X-Games Supermoto Gold Medalist, 2008 AMA Supersport Champion “This is another great example of how Yamaha is contributing to the quality instruction and support of the Yamaha Champions Riding School,” said lead instructor Nick Ienatsch. “The commitment Yamaha has shown since the beginning has exceeded my expectations, and they continue to go above and beyond every day.” “It is our commitment, through our rider education programs, to provide the best instruction in the world to motorcyclists,” said Bob Starr. “By providing the best riders in the world to the students of our training programs we are helping to ensure riders have the chance to learn from the best and enjoy their riding even more.” To learn more about the Yamaha Champions Riding School, log on to www.MMPSchools.com or call Daniel Short at 435.277.8799.
