Prize Money for Top Open Two Stroke Racers with AHRMA at Barber Vintage Festival

An international road racing icon, along with thousands of fans, will experience the sights, sounds, and smells of two-stroke road racing motorcycles at the 19th annual Barber Vintage Festival on Saturday, October 12.

Grand Marshal Kenny Roberts and his 1980 MotoGP/500cc Grand Prix-winning YRZ500 will be at the event to see that two strokes are still raced competitively in the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association’s (AHRMA) Open Two-Stroke class.

Mojo Yamaha, Rising Sun Cycles, Comstock Energy, and three anonymous AHRMA racers are sponsoring the event and awarding a total of $3,750 for the top finishers in the Open Two-Stroke race on Saturday, October 12.

The first, second, third and fourth finishers in each of these tiers within the race will be awarded prize money: 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc+.

Any two-stroke motorcycle regardless of displacement, number of cylinders, frame type, cooling type, or date of manufacture is eligible for AHRMA’s Open Two-Stroke class.

“The Barber Vintage Festival showcases multiple classes of historic road racing on the world-renowned track, making it a must-attend event for motorcycle enthusiasts and race fans” said Greg Tomlinson, 2024 Chairman of the AHRMA Board of Trustees. “The addition of a cash purse for the Open Two-Stroke Class ensures a deep field of riders for those fans that love the sublime pleasure of the distinct sound and smell of a two-stroke cycle.”

A current competition license from a known organization is required.  All competitors are required to practice on Thursday or Friday and meet the qualifying requirements.
