Win a dream trip to the Yamaha Champions Riding School and be a moto-journalist for a day Yamaha and American Motorcyclist magazine team up in contest for AMA members PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Think it would be fun to get expert-level, on-track riding instruction at the Yamaha Champions Riding School? Have you ever dreamed of doing cool stuff on bikes, and writing about it for a motorcycle magazine? American Motorcyclist magazine and Yamaha will make that dream a reality for one lucky member of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). The selected AMA member will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the school, which is based at Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as the opportunity to write a story for American Motorcyclist, the official journal of the AMA, to detail the experience firsthand. In addition, applicants can continue their quest to “go viral” by starring in their own Internet video. “At American Motorcyclist, we put the focus on riders, and getting one of our members on a bike at the Yamaha Champions Riding School will make for a really fun story,” said American Motorcyclist Managing Editor Grant Parsons. “The truth is, you don’t have to be a professional writer or rider to learn great skills at a track school, and we’re looking forward to bringing that experience to our readers with a fresh perspective.” Said Yamaha’s Media Relations Manager Kevin Foley: “We know from experience what a great environment a track school can be for allowing riders of all skill levels to improve, and we’re looking forward to helping one lucky AMA member tell that story. This is going to be a lot of fun.” Interested? You must be an AMA member with a valid motorcycle license, and agree to appear in a video and write a story if you are chosen for the assignment. The offer to take the Yamaha Champions Riding School is only for the month of June. Apply via e-mail to [email protected]. Be sure to include: * Your name * Your address * Your AMA number * A brief history of your motorcycle experience * A 500-word essay or column on why you should attend the Yamaha Champions Riding School and be chosen as American Motorcyclist’s journalist for a day. Entries will be judged on originality, persuasiveness and the entrant’s ability to write creatively. * A short video (or a link to a video that’s already posted elsewhere), making your case for the job. * Any other supporting materials you’d like to include. Entry deadline is May 20. All entries become the property of the AMA and may be made public, either in print or on the Internet. Editors’ decisions on a winner are final and will be based on applicants’ creativity. For more information on the Yamaha Champions Riding School, see YamahaChampionsRidingSchool.com. About the American Motorcyclist Association Since 1924, the AMA has protected the future of motorcycling and promoted the motorcycle lifestyle.
