DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 28, 2016) – AMA Pro Racing announced today a number of key staff additions to the company in advance of the 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track season. The hires fill vital roles in the competition and communications departments.

David McGrath joins the company’s executive leadership team as Chief Competition Officer with a wealth of experience gained in the motorsports and motorcycle industries. As a former racer, factory crew chief and developmental lead for multiple OEMs, McGrath has built strong and lasting relationships within the motorcycle racing community over the last three decades. The Pennsylvania native most recently served AMA Pro Racing as Senior Director of Competition.

Danny Carson will oversee AMA Pro Racing’s transportation fleet as Senior Manager of Transportation. Carson most recently held the position of Marking Operations Manager for Ducati North America where he was responsible for the operations and logistics for Ducati’s presence at IMS shows and motorsports events.

Completing the competition department, seven-time Grand National Champion Chris Carr will serve as Competition Consultant for AMA Pro Flat Track. His success on the race track, combined with his proven business acumen, make him perfectly suited to assist the company with a number of competition-related projects and the formation of a new Advisory Group. A fan favorite, Carr will also remain as color commentator for AMA Pro Flat Track’s live streaming broadcasts on FansChoice.tv.

In the communications department, Shaun Melady will assume the role of Communications Coordinator. Melady will draw from his experience in marketing, communications and broadcast to support the company’s public relations and social media efforts.

“We are building a bright future for professional flat track racing,” said Michael Lock, CEO of AMA Pro Racing. “I have the utmost respect for all of these individuals; their passion and experience will greatly assist us in reaching the ambitious goals we have set for ourselves.”

The 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track season will kick off with a doubleheader at the DAYTONA Flat Track during Daytona’s Bike Week festivities. The twin short track races will take place at the “World Center of Racing” on Thursday and Friday, March 10 & 11.
