People who attended the AMA Pro Racing awards banquet November 14 in Las Vegas have been sent a letter of apology signed by AMA Pro Racing CEO Scott Hollingsworth and AMA President Rob Rasor.

The letter offers apologies for remarks made by banquet co-host Jerry Bernardo, who made several references to “sponsor blow-jobs” and who refused to follow the teleprompter and keep to the script even when urged to do so by co-host Jamie Little.

The letter, dated November 19 and postmarked November 22, arrived at Roadracing World headquarters today.

The letter states, in part, “While we worked hard to make this year’s banquet more enjoyable, unfortunately one of the hosts made inappropriate remarks during the course of the evening. We apologize if you were offended by these comments and please understand they do not reflect the values of our organization and are not in keeping with the standards associated with the AMA and AMA Pro Racing. We have already taken steps to ensure that this does not happen again.”
