AFM Cancels March 21-22 Series Opener

© 2020, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc. From a press release issued By Berto Wooldridge, AFM President

In rare cases, the AFM has seen fit to cancel race events in previous seasons. Due to Federal and state recommendations regarding the Coronavirus, the March 21/22 event will be canceled and our season opener postponed.

When responding to infectious diseases. The AFM will do its part and closely follow the recommendations of the CDC (Center for Disease Control) as well as other credible health and governmental organizations to ensure we are responding appropriately and promptly. Governor Newsom’s statewide directive on canceling events numbering in excess of 250 attendees applies to all nonessential professional, social and community gatherings. An AFM sanctioned event falls into this category. Additionally, the AFM has a responsibility to our members, workers, and attendees to follow federal and local health recommendations.

The AFM will keep abreast of ongoing recommendations for large gathering events in regards to upcoming events and notify the membership of any further upcoming changes or cancellations to our 2020 season. The board and workers will miss seeing our members this month. We were all looking forward to a long off-season’s end with our March event. While “racers race,” let’s make sure to all do our part to stay healthy and knock this virus out. Awesome AFM racing will follow.

Stay healthy friends.

Thank you, from the AFM Board and Workers
