Kenny Roberts Sr. vs. Kurtis Roberts: California Court Sets Settlement Conference, Court Hearing Dates

A California Superior Court judge has set a settlement conference for later this month in a legal case involving three-time 500cc Grand Prix World Champion Kenny Roberts Sr. and his son, three-time AMA Pro Road Racing Champion Kurtis Roberts.

In August, Kenny Leroy Roberts, 64, filed for–and received–a temporary restraining order against Kurtis Roberts, 37.

At a follow-up court appearance earlier this week, (attended by Kurtis Roberts and his lawyer, and by Kenny Roberts Sr.’s lawyer but not by Roberts Sr. himself), the judge set a settlement conference for September 23rd in Stanislaus County Superior Court, a court representative told Roadracingworld.com. In addition, the next court hearing has been continued until December 2nd, she said.

Kurtis Roberts and his brother, 2000 500cc Grand Prix World Champion Kenny Roberts, Jr. both told Roadracingworld.com afterwards that the existing restraining order had been modified to allow Kurtis to have access to his father’s ranch.
