Brownell To Manage AMA-sanctioned Amateur Road Race Series In New Mexico

Former racer and magazine publisher Dr. Bob Brownell, organizer of the Southwest Sportbike School from 1998 through 2000, has been hired on as the General Manager of the three-year old Arroyo Seco Motorsports Complex near Deming, New Mexico. Dr. Brownell has acquired AMA-sanctioning which in turn has facilitated the formation of the AMA/ASMA (Arroyo Seco Motorcycle Association) road race series for 2001. The five-round series features an Open Practice/ Track Day on Saturday followed by a racing schedule on Sunday. Racers with current licenses will be welcomed for the open track days, but will be encouraged to become AMA members. No information on class structure, licensing costs, or entry fees was available at post time.
