Petitions signed by 76 riders licensed by AMA Pro Racing as well as 57 team owners and crew members in support of unrestricted Thursday practice prior to AMA road racing Nationals were presented to the AMA Road Racing Advisory Board Friday evening.

Members of the Advisory Board, largely made up of factory team and manufacturer representatives, oppose the continuance of Thursday practice because they want to use Thursday to park their semi-trucks and set up their pit areas, instead of having to arrive on Wednesday to set up.

Factory teams do not need Thursday practice to set up and develop bikes because they can afford to participate in stand-alone independent test sessions not open to non-factory riders and teams.
