In the post-qualifying press conference, Hayden said that track conditions were much worse than last year, with sealer coming up out of cracks in the racetrack.

“The track surface is crap,” said Hayden. “There’s all these sealer patches. The ones going this way (perpendicular to travel) aren’t so bad but it’s the ones you get on going this way (parallel to travel) that really upset the bike. Going into (turn) two there’s a couple of them. I never remembered it here before. And with it being so hot it’s so greasy across those things. I remember the sealer, but nothing like it is now. They had one (patch of sealant) coming up this morning.”
