From a press release issued by organizers of the Eastern Airways Sidecar Championship:

RACE POSTPONED

Torrential rain at the Knockhill circuit in Fife caused organisers to postpone the opening Eastern Airways Sidecar Championship race until Sunday morning.

The entire Saturday afternoon qualifying and race schedule was abandoned with more then four hours remaining.

The Eastern Airways Sidecar teams will now do battle over two races at the 1.3-mile circuit near Dunfermline.

Tim and Tristan Reeves collected their first ‘Nexa Autocolor pole position award’ after pipping nine times world champion Steve Webster.

“I’m over the moon,” admitted Reeves. “I knew what the story would be if it did rain so I went hard at the start of the session, beat Steve’s time from yesterday and then the rain came – result!”
