Yamaha/Graves Yamaha’s Damon Buckmaster is not at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to compete in the AMA event this weekend.

According to his team, Buckmaster has decided to take more time off of riding to let the fractured scaphoid bone in his left hand/wrist heal. They expect him to return to action at a test at Virginia International Raceway in August.

Buckmaster suffered the injury in a crash during practice at Barber Motorsports Park in May. He rode in the AMA Supersport race at Laguna Seca two weeks ago even though his fracture had not completely healed.
