Tray Batey won every race he entered during a WERA National Challenge Series event at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway in Talladega, Alabama on Sunday, taking home four first-place trophies.

Open Superstock was the first of the 12-lap sprint races, and Tray Batey took the lead at the start on his Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R750. Brian Stokes followed in second on his GSX-R750, but was unable to catch Batey.

Batey’s second win came in the Heavyweight Twins race on his Suzuki SV1000. Roger Bell took the initial lead and gave Batey an early-race challenge, but Batey eventually passed and pulled away to win.

The 750cc Superstock race was nearly identical to the Open Superstock race, with Stokes chasing Batey, both on their Suzuki GSX-R750s. Stokes finished close behind Batey, but not close enough to challenge for the lead.

The Formula One race presented a familiar sight–Batey leading Stokes in another GSX-R750 Suzuki battle. Stokes was able to keep up with Batey better than he had in the previous two races until one of his handlebars came loose and he was forced to slow down. Batey took the checkered flag with a five-second lead on Stokes.

Attack Kawasaki’s Josh Hayes took advantage of a break in the AMA Pro Racing schedule to get back to his club-racing roots. Despite starting from the back of the field in the 600cc Superstock race, he was able to work his way up on his Kawasaki 636cc ZX-6R to take the lead on lap five. Behind him, RacerSupply.com’s Logan Young was at the front of a five-way battle for second, followed by Vesrah Suzuki’s Mark Junge, both riders on Suzuki GSX-R600s.

Bo Morgan won both the Formula 2 and Lightweight Twins races on his Suzuki SV650. He worked his way past Bruce Stanford to take the lead in Formula 2, but led the entire Lightweight Twins race.

Matt Furtek and Derek Keyes traded the lead throughout the 600cc Superbike race. Furtek took the lead for good on lap eight on his Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R600, and held off a late charge from Keyes, who was on a Yamaha YZF-R6.

Craig Montgomery won the 750cc Superbike race on a Kawasaki 636cc ZX-6R. Novice Ryan Gordon worked his way up from the Novice field, which started in the second wave of the race, to finish second overall on his Suzuki GSX-R750.

There were no red flags during the day’s races, and all of the events were completed in about three-and-a-half hours.
