The factory Yamaha AMA Supersport and Graves Yamaha AMA Superstock teams may retain all four riders – Aaron Gobert, Jamie Hacking, Damon Buckmaster and Jason DiSalvo – for the 2005 season. Gobert has already committed to the 2005 season, while Hacking, Buckmaster and DiSalvo all told Roadracingworld.com Friday that they intend to stay with the company for another year. “I should be here,” said Buckmaster. “I hope to get the deal done before I go back to Australia on Tuesday. Essentially, we’re done.” “More than likely I’ll be right here,” said Hacking. “It’s not set in stone yet, but it is pretty much. We’re just working out the bugs.” “I can’t picture myself anywhere else,” said DiSalvo. Buckmaster, Hacking and DiSalvo all said they were waiting for the arrival of Yamaha Racing Manager Keith McCarty at Virginia International Raceway to finish their deals. According to Yamaha Team Manager Tom Halverson, the company has not determined which AMA classes it will race in during the 2005 season.
