Despite the fact that AMA Pro Racing has issued a 2005 Superbike Series schedule showing a race at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) on September 17-18, no deal is in place and whether or not there will be a race at VIR is up in the air.

That’s what VIR co-owner Connie Nyholm told Roadracingworld.com when she returned a phone call on Thursday, October 28.

“AMA has not been in contact with me at all,” said Nyholm. Asked about the date seen on the 2005 AMA schedule, Nyholm said, “We have an option for a race next year. I believe it is their intention to have a race here next year, but they have not contacted me regarding any specific date.”

The VIR date is marked as “tentative” on the 2005 schedule released by AMA Pro Racing recently.
