BLATA’s legal fight against Chinese manufacturers and worldwide importers of illegal copies yields significant success Brno–BLATA CZ has recently stepped up its relentless fight to protect its worldwide intellectual property rights. Cheap imitations of the Minibike, Mini Motard and flagship Origami B1 range and now the new Quadard have been manufactured by Chinese companies and sold across all corners of the world. The copied bikes not only infringe European and worldwide registered designs and trademarks but are also found to be extremely poor quality and in some cases fatal, all of the copied bikes are sold without any form of Public or Product Liability at any stage of the supply chain. The lack of technical backup and spare parts has caused many purchasers of the copies to be very disappointed. Buyers often believe they are actually being sold a genuine BLATA bike when in fact all they receive is a cheap copy. If a deal looks too good to be true then invariably it is too good to be true. BLATA CZ the inspiration behind the Minibike craze have been working with the official bodies worldwide to establish a strategic plan to legally fight for protection of any serious infringements these include European, American and Chinese Trading Standards offices, customs & excise departments, internet companies and hosts and local government agencies. Success has already been achieved with many of the internet sites with instant removal of infringing items advertised on many websites. These range from the man in the street selling his used copy bike to the dealers advertising new imitation products but more importantly now the fight against the illegal manufacture of the copies is yielding success. The Chinese government departments that deal with this growing problem are working very closely with BLATA CZ and it legal council to eradicate this problem. What should be clear to all companies and individuals who are illegally using intellectual property of BLATA CZ under false pretences is that we BLATA CZ will aggressively defend our rights to protect the integrity of this company.
