An estate of 130 classic bikes that have been locked up for 30 years will be auctioned September 16th in Colorado Springs. Gilbert Tiger got started when he took over his dad’s bicycle shop in the 1940s. Gilbert took on many motorcycle brands including Ducati, Hodaka, Mustang and all the popular British bikes. He was a saver and didn’t like to sell his bikes, so many of them are still there. The shop was pretty much closed since 1975. All of the bikes are covered with dust and grime. They have not corroded or rusted. Under that protective coating of dust are new motorcycles and many with less than 1000 miles on them. There are many nice British bikes and Ducati Singles from 50cc to 450cc. The majority are 250cc and 350cc both narrow and wide case. There are perfect examples for collectors and many basket jobs and parts for racers. There are also many vintage legal dirt bikes. Gilbert saved everything including some interesting cars, clocks and radios. The auction will be held 10:00 a.m. September 16, at 415 Juanita St., Colorado Springs, Colorado.
