GARRETT CARTER HEADS TO JEREZ, SPAIN FOR THE SPANISH CEV Garrett is off to Spain on August 31st for the 4th round of the Campeonato de Espana de Velocidad commonly known as the CEV or Spanish Championship. He will be racing in the 125 GP class. The schedule is Friday practice, Saturday qualifying (2 sessions of 20 minutes each) and the Sunday race on September 4th. The CEV has taken a 6 week vacation just like much of Europe does for August but will soon start the 2nd half of the season beginning with Jerez. The track at Jerez is one of the premium tracks in the world and hosts a round of the MotoGP. This will be Garrett’s 2nd time at Jerez since he raced there at last year’s season final. He should move up the standings because he now knows the track and has been honing his skills here racing very well with the always tough USGPRU series of which he is in a heated battle for the national title with several other RRW Young Guns. Garrett’s team, Ecurie Sports, will then follow the CEV to Albacete, Valencia and back to Jerez for the season final. Garrett has now been to all these tracks at least once. This should be a great opportunity for him as the 2nd half of the season unfolds. Another development in the works for Garrett Carter Racing is shipping his Aprilia RSW 125 to Spain to run with his team, Ecurie Sports, for the last 2 CEV races. Garrett’s tuner and mentor, Rocky Stargel, will join Garrett in a team effort to up the ante by providing Garrett with the top equipment and expertise to run with the top teams over there.
