SCCA Vice-President Wright Joins Miller Motorsports Park Staff

Mitch Wright to Join Miller Motorsports Park as Director of Racing (SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH) – Miller Motorsports Park, the new road racing facility under construction outside Salt Lake City, announced today that Mitch Wright, former Vice President of Professional Racing for the Sports Car Club of America, will join the Miller management team as Director of Racing. “We are absolutely thrilled to have Mitch join our executive management team,” said Alan Wilson, CEO and General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park. “Mitch is one of the most accomplished and respected professionals in all of American motor racing, and he will use his immense experience and expertise to help Miller grow into the best possible race facility.” Wright is a championship winning race driver, a highly-respected race car builder and developer, and the architect of the SCCA World Challenge racing series’ rise to prominence. He will play a major role in Miller’s development of regional and club level car racing. Wright will also oversee the operation of Miller’s major event schedule, which in 2006 will include AMA Superbikes Thunder Run, the ALMS/SCCA World Challenge Utah Grand Prix, the Historic Sportscar Racing Heroes of Speed, and the Grand Am SunChaser 9-Hour. Wright will take a lead role in the direction of all racing and competitive activities; including karting, motorcycle racing, solo and autocross competition, race schools, track drive activities and safety management. An accomplished and active karter, Wright will be a welcome addition to the Utah motor sports scene and an important factor in its development onto the national motor sports stage. Wright will assume his position in Salt Lake City on January 2, 2006.
