Come to High Gear Powersports in downtown Gilroy for their Grand Opening and Product Showcase on Tuesday July 18, from 3 to 8pm.The Showcase will include: Moto-GP Leathers, Arai Helmets, Shoei Helmets, SHIFT Street, ICON, Alpinestars, Leo Vince, Dunlop Tires, Suomy Helmets, Motion-Pro Tools, Repsol Lubricants, KBC Helmets, and more! Representing the products on display will be parts distributors such as; Tucker Rocky, Western Powersports, Bennett Distributing, Parts Unlimited, Shift Racing, Motorcycle Stuff, and Helmet House. There will also be hundreds of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki motorcycles, ATV’s, and personal watercraft on display. As if that weren’t enough already, raffles and product give-a-ways will go on throughout the event! The Grand prize drawing will be a 3-day pass for two to the 2006 U.S. Grand Prix Race at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway, July 21-23 with Paddock passes and admittance to the Exclusive Repsol Lubricants Hospitality Tent, turn 10 grandstand passes, and a chance to meet the 2005 U.S. Grand Prix Champion Nicky Hayden! Appearing at the Grand Opening will be two Legends of Motorcycling; Doug Chandler and Wayne Rainey. Doug Chandler is a Salinas native, a 3-time AMA Superbike Champion (1990, 1996, 1997), and one of only five winners of the “Grand Slam” in AMA National Championship racing, with wins in short track, T.T., half mile, mile, and road racing, as well as being a member of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2006. High Gear Powersports is a proud sponsor of The Doug Chandler 2006 AMA Superbike Race Team. Doug will be racing his Kawasaki ZX10R at the 2006 U.S. Grand Prix at the Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey CA, July 21-23. Wayne Rainey is a resident of Monterey, a 2-time AMA Superbike Champion (1983,1987), a 3-time 500cc World Champion (1990-1992), and a member of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 1999.
