Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Amendment to the Rules The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, Chairman), Claude Danis (FIM), Hervé Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), with the presence of Mr Paul Butler (Secretary of the meeting), in a meeting held today at the circuit of Jerez, unanimously decided to introduce the following changes to the Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Regulations, for immediate application. SPORTING REGULATIONS 1.13.1 Schedule To amend as follows: (“¦) SUNDAY : Warm up Races 125cc 08h30 – 08h55 11h00 250cc 09h05 – 09h30 12h15 Motogp 09h40 – 10h05 14h00 1.15.2 Practice Sessions (warm-up inclusive) To amend as follows: (“¦) iii) The end of practice will be indicated by the waving of a chequered flag at which time the pit exit will be closed. A rider’s time will continue to be recorded until he passes the finish line after the allotted time has elapsed, at which time the red light on the finish line will be displayed. After the chequered flag, riders must complete one additional lap prior to entering the pits. (“¦) To add the following; vi) At the start of the warm-up, the following procedure will apply: Pit-lane exit opens for 2 minutes. Count-down boards of 2, 1 minute and 30 seconds shown at the pit-lane exit. Pit-lane exit closes. Riders who are still in the pit-lane will not be allowed to practice start on the starting grid. Riders on the track complete one lap without stopping and go onto the starting grid. They stop on the starting grid, practice start from the 1st row only, complete one lap without stopping and enter the pit-lane. As soon as the last rider has completed his lap, pit-lane exit opens to continue the warm-up. 1.21 Behaviour During Practice and Race To amend as follows: 17) During the practice sessions and warm ups, practice starts are permitted, when it is safe to do so, at the pit lane exit before joining the track and after the chequered flag is shown, at the end of practice sessions and warm-ups when it is safe to do so, off the racing line.
