Aurora, IL (July 16, 2007) Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki riders Aaron Yates and Jake Holden look to revisit the podium when the Jordan Suzuki team visits Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, July 20-22, 2007. Last season at Laguna, Yates qualified his Suzuki GSX-R1000 for a front row start in the AMA Superbike event. Having previously won in both the Supersport and Superstock classes at Laguna Seca, Yates hopes to add a Superbike win to his list of accomplishments. The weekend’s racing action includes the running of the U.S. Grand Prix (MotoGP) and an abbreviated AMA class schedule, with both Jordan Suzuki riders competing only in Sunday’s 28-lap (100K) Superbike event finale. Jake Holden hopes to make a strong showing and use his track time to prepare for the team’s return to Laguna Seca for the AMA Championship’s full class schedule, September 15-17. Holden is currently 11th in overall Superstock points and has earned two second place podium finishes for the Jordan Suzuki team this season. Yates, who qualified his Jordan Suzuki Superbike for the front row in two previous rounds of racing earlier this season, hopes this is the weekend he gives his crew the elusive Superbike podium finish. Earlier this season, Yates grabbed the holeshot in race two at Road America, ran as high as second place at Infineon Raceway, and rode in third place for most of the 28-lap Superbike race at Barber Motorsports Park, proving he has the skill and Superbike power needed for a podium finish. Yates is currently seventh in overall Superbike points and only 31 points from the top five. The race’s winner earns 36 valuable points towards the championship.
