Cardenas Extends Contract With Team Hammer, Inc. Team Hammer, Inc. has exercised its contract option on Martin Cardenas and is pleased to announce that Cardenas will continue with the team in 2009. Martin will concentrate on the new AMA Pro Racing Daytona Superbike class next season. “I’m excited about racing the Daytona Superbike class for Team M4 EMGO Suzuki,” said Cardenas, 25 years old. “I feel really good on the 600cc bikes and it looks like it’s going to be interesting, so I’m hoping to do good next year. I don’t know too many details about the rules just yet, but it’s supposed to be a very level class, very competitive, which should be exciting. The team has been great for me ever since I joined them and by now everything is very familiar. We should only improve as we continue to work together.” Cardenas has proven himself one of the fastest Formula Xtreme and Supersport racers since joining Team M4 EMGO Suzuki midway through the 2007 season. “I think it’s going to be good that everyone will be on the same tires. There won’t be any advantages from one brand to another. It will level the competition and it should be good for the spectators and make for some exciting racing.” Team Hammer, Inc. is currently competing as Team M4 EMGO Suzuki in AMA Superstock, Supersport and Formula Xtreme events. “It’s great to have Martin coming back next year,” said Crew Chief Keith Perry. “He’s a fantastic racer and can be a real difference maker on the track. We’re excited to continue on with Martin as racing makes some big changes for next season.” Team Hammer was founded in 1980 and is in its 28th continuous season of operating as a professional motorcycle road racing team. The team is known for finding and developing new talent.
