It was quite the battle for the inaugural AMA Daytona SportBike crown between the big Buell of Oklahoman Danny Eslick and the screaming GSX-R600 of Colombian Martin Cardenas. It came down to the final races at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Unfortunately, it wasn’t decided on the racetrack.
