Television commentators working on the Jerez MotoGP broadcast caused some confusion when they stated that Kenny Noyes was born to an American father (former racer and current journalist and broadcaster Dennis Noyes) and a Spanish mother. Having met Kenny’s mom Heidi, I didn’t think she was anything other than American. But to double-check, I e-mailed Dennis Noyes, who replied via e-mail, as follows: “Yeah, Heidi is American, from Texas. The TV commentators on SPEED said she was Spanish, but came around to say they were correcting that. Kenny was born in Barcelona, raised till the age of 14 in Miraflores de la Sierra, in the mountains north of Madrid, and when Dorna sent me to the States to run the USGP at Laguna in 1994, I took the opportunity to bring the family over, and decided to start living in both countries.”
