Proper Wear/Karma Tequila rider Skip Salenius is changing course for the last couple rounds of his 2011 season. After starting off Daytona with 11 broken/fractured bones in his hand and wrist and struggling with setup issues on his Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike, Skip has decided to finish the season on a Yamaha YZF-R6 in the Daytona Sportbike class. “It’s just hard as a privateer to do all the things necessary to get the R1 set up on my limited budget,” says Salenius. That’s where X-Games gold medalist and good friend Chad Kagy comes in. Kagy is a repeat contender in BMX Vert and Big Air in the Dew Tour and X-Games competitions and is a huge motorcycle racing fan. He recently crossed over into road racing and is a Novice in the WERA Sportsman Series. Chad gave Salenius his Yamaha YZF-R6 to prep and ride in the remaining AMA races and is excited to have his motorcycle debuted at the Laguna Seca round. Not only is Chad an avid motorcycle fan but also a fan of the troops. He is part of a small group of pro athletes that participate in Bikes Over Baghdad, a traveling support group for troops overseas. Salenius is excited to partner up with him for the remainder of the 2011 season. Special thanks to Performance Cycleworx (Canton, GA), Graves Motorsports, Weston Gleaves, Drippin Wet Graphics, and Andrew Swenson Designs. www.karmatequila.com www.chadkagy.com www.salenius63.com Search Bikes Over Baghdad on Facebook
