Repsol Suter’s Marc Marquez has failed a medical exam and will not be able to race in Sunday’s Moto2 race at Sepang, likely due to a concussion. Marquez was injured Friday in a massive crash during the first Moto2 practice of the weekend. The incident was apparently caused when cornerworkers at Turn 10 did not display flags warning riders of a localized shower that had drenched the track. Race organizers were fined more than $20,000 afterwards. Marquez skipped the second and third practice sessions, complaining of dizziness, but went out in the qualifying session on Saturday afternoon and was 36th fastest. The medical exam came after qualifying. Marquez’s bad luck is a boost for title rival Stefan Bradl, who could clinch the Moto2 World Championship with a win on Sunday. Bradl can also secure the World Championship with consistent finishes on Sunday and in two weeks’ time during the season finale at Valencia, Spain.
