Dane Westby and Crew Chief Chuck Giacchetto started working together for the 2009 racing season, after Westby showed promise on a clapped-out racebike he borrowed from Giacchetto during a WERA event in 2008. Westby took second place in the 2010 AMA Pro Daytona 200 with the now-defunct Project 1 Atlanta team, but a win in the ultra-competitive AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class eluded Westby until he and Giacchetto hooked up with M4 Suzuki for 2011. The big breakthrough victory came at Mid-Ohio this season and was a huge boost for Westby, who came close to scoring another couple of wins before the year ended.
