In a bold marketing strategy, Burbank based motorcycle apparel and accessories firm, Full Tuck Racing Corporation have contracted renowned Van Nuys performance and custom bike builders, AIP Racing to create a new two rider, two class race team for 2012. The focus of the team will be the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Road Racing Championships, essentially the national championships with 11 rounds scheduled across the USA. All rounds will feature live and delayed television, plus highlights packages post season. It is also the intention of the team to investigate other opportunities, such as support events and wildcard entries for US rounds of the MotoGP and World Superbike Championships. Full Tuck Racing is a new venture and has aspirations to become a true player in the competitive world of motorcycle safety, fashion and performance. The company’s President, Craig Hall nominated his reasons for the creation of a racing team as his marketing strategy. “Racing proves a product, builds reputation and provides great product feedback. Plus the racer and spectator is our target demographic”. Full Tuck Racing is a relatively new company and is looking to show the industry and sport that they are serious about the future. AIP’s Chris Jones added “We are truly excited about being chosen as the base for this new team. We have a long history of making competitive and reliable race bikes and with the sport and industry coming back, this is a great opportunity to showcase what AIP can do for any owner looking for more performance”. The team has chosen Yamaha’s YZF R6 bike as their entry for both Daytona Sport Bike (DSB) and also 600cc Supersport. The team has chosen two riders. Local rider Michael Beck’s 2011 results and potential made him the clear choice for the DSB class, while for the Supersport seat, Australian Jake Dolan emerged as a late consideration after some inspiring late season races in SoCal events. The team, officially known as Full Tuck AIP Racing, will begin testing soon and also conduct an official launch at a date and time yet to be confirmed.
