Yamaha’s unveils Sesto Custom Cycle’s latest masterpiece Cypress, CA December 8, 2012 From the Long Beach IMS Show floor, Yamaha Motor Corporation is very excited to unveil Sesto Custom Cycle’s latest masterpiece. Winner of the 2012 Custom Showdown Pro Builder of the Year, where the top prize is a brand new R1, it only took renowned custom bike builder Tony Sesto and his crew five weeks to use the top prize as a blank canvas and turn it into a work of art. Taking design elements from Yamaha Corporation’s 125-year history, beginning in 1898 when the logo was a Mythical Phoenix holding a tuning fork in its mouth, to the modern day Tuning Fork logo of Yamaha Motor Corporation, Tony Sesto and his crew used the body work of the R1 as an homage to Yamaha’s history. The paint alone would be a show stealer, but the beauty of Tony’s masterpiece lies in every unique detail of the bike. The frame and majority of the metal components have a copper finish, another homage to Yamaha’s musical origins. The single sided front suspension has been hand crafted by Tony to compliment the stretched singled sided rear suspension, which is mated to 240mm Dunlop tires to create a look and stance that is unlike any other motorcycle on the planet, and could only be created by the hands of a true artist. . Not one for show bikes that aren’t road worthy, Tony and his crew rode the bike to the Long Beach IMS from their shop in Stanton, Ca. to give it a shakedown before it goes on the IMS tour. “The bikes Tony and his crew create have long been fan favorites at the Super Street Bike/Yamaha Custom Showdown presented by Yamalube over the past few years and with his latest work of art he completely shattered all of our expectations. Tony is truly passionate about his work and bleeds Yamaha blue”, said Yamaha’s Motorcycle Marketing Manager David Docktor.
