Two weeks after he was prohibited from attending a MotoGP test at the Circuit of The Americas, a track that he helped design, former World Champion Kevin Schwantz has been personally invited to attend the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca by that track’s CEO/General Manager Gill Campbell. Schwantz was at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca March 25 to serve as a guest instructor at one of Reg Pridmore’s CLASS Motorcycle Schools. Campbell approached Schwantz in the paddock and presented him with a hand-written personal invitation that read: “Kevin, You are cordially invited to attend the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix. Appropriate credentials and hospitality will be provided. Gill Campbell” Schwantz happily posed for a photo with the invitation, which was posted to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s Facebook page. Last year Schwantz filed a lawsuit against Circuit of The Americas for pushing him out of the deal to bring MotoGP to the Austin, Texas racetrack. That lawsuit is still pending.
