According to his long-time friend Lee Bivens, AMA Pro Formula One and Superbike racer turned announcer Richard Chambers has died in Los Angeles. He was 79 years old.

Chambers survived a cancer diagnoses in 2020 and returned to his announcing career.
Chambers came up through AAMRR & WERA racing, earned his AMA license and competed as a privateer sponsored by White’s Truck Stop on 250cc and 750cc Yamahas, racing a TZ750 in AMA Formula One. After AMA Superbike was established, he started racing a Kawasaki Superbike.

After retiring from professional racing, Chambers became a race announcer at events including the Daytona 200, which he attended for decades. He was an avid supporter of rider safety initiatives, specifically the Roadracing World Action Fund.
May he Rest in Peace, and condolences to his wife, Laurel.
