CJ LaRoche was one of the first fallers on Friday, crashing in the opening Supersport session, and was on the track on his hands and knees as several bikes went past before officials threw a red flag. LaRoche was sore but uninjured and decided to withdraw from the event.
Sean Dylan Kelly continued to impress in his first Superbike season with Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki. Kelly put his GSX-R1000R on top of the time sheet on Friday morning and backed up his performance in the morning with the second-fastest time on Friday afternoon. It was the first time Team Hammer had put a bike on top of the Superbike time sheet in a practice session since 2021.
Kyle Wyman on the factory Harley-Davidson was more than a second clear of the King of The Baggers field in the morning practice, but in provisional qualifying, Loris Baz on the S&S Indian cut the gap to 0.012 seconds. Troy Herfoss was third on another Indian, but more than half a second behind Baz.
Ashton Yates on the Jones Honda CBR 1000RR-R and Andrew Lee on the OrangeCat BMW M 1000 RR traded fastest lap times in the two Stock 1000 sessions. The pair, and Lee’s OrangeCat teammate Jayson Uribe, were more than a second clear of the rest of the field.
Cory West and Jake Lewis traded the top two spots in the Super Hooligan sessions on Friday. The Saddlemen Race Development riders led a Harley-Davidson Pan America ST sweep of the top five positions. Dominic Doyle on the Giaccmoto Yamaha Racing MT-09 ST was the fastest non-Harley-Davidson rider, 1.588 seconds back in provisional qualifying.
