The mere presence of three-time AMA Pro Superbike Champion Josh Hayes at the MotoGP World Championship event October 25-27 at Twin Ring Motegi, in Japan, have led some internet media outlets to produce speculative reports with misinformation. One outlet “tweeted” that Hayes was in Japan to test YZF-R1 Superbikes in preparation for Yamaha’s return to the FIM Superbike World Championship. Other media sources are now spreading that rumor on the internet. But the truth is very different. “I went to Japan,” Hayes confirmed to Roadracingworld.com Tuesday. “I understand everyone is interested in hearing some interesting news, but the truth of the matter was I went there to hang out with my buddy Cal Crutchlow and watch the MotoGP race at Motegi.” Monster Yamaha Tech 3 MotoGP racer Crutchlow and Hayes frequently train together in Southern California during the off-season.
