2014 ASRA Championship Chase Begins This Weekend

Bloomingdale, GA – The AMA sanctioned ASRA Championship Series rolls into Roebling Road Raceway this weekend to start the 2014 season with a bang. Racing action kicks off at 11:30am Saturday with the 75 lap Team Challenge presented by Michelin Tire followed by 6 Championship Cup Series events and qualifying for the ASRA Sprints. Then Sunday features a full slate of racing with 2 AMA sanctioned USGPRU Sprints, 3 ASRA Sprints presented by Pirelli and 14 Championship Cup Series races to make sure everyone gets their fill of championship motorcycle racing.

The opening round of the Team Challenge Championship brings defending Overall Champion Grease Monkey Racing, (formerly 5-time Overall Champion Chester Auto Repair), and the always formidable LB Racing together again renewing their rivalry from 2013 Defending GTU Champion XRay Racing faces off against RnR Racing, who fell just 20 points short of the GTU title in 2013.With 75 laps of racing, it will be anyone’s guess who will bring home the win at Roebling Road Raceway.

On Sunday March 9th, defending SuperStock Champion Paul DeCouto will make the trek from Bermuda to start his quest for another ASRA National title while 2013 CCS Florida Overall Champion Bruno Silva will be looking to test his mettle against the Champ. Also on the entry list are past CCS Mid-Atlantic Overall Champions Santiago Villa and Jim Cohrs, insuring that victory in the opening round will not come easy for anyone.

The American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) is the parent organization to the Championship Cup Series (CCS), the largest amateur motorcycle road racing organization in the United States issuing over 3,000 licenses per year.
