Minimoto USA Appoints James Toohey as Race Director

Minimoto USA is excited to announce that James Toohey has joined us as Race Director for the 2014 season. James is a long-time racer and instructor, and brings with him an abundance of experience and leadership skills. Having coached for the California Superbike School for over a decade, he knows what it takes to keep a motorcycle event safe and fun. For the young guns in our youth development program, James has a lot of insight into how a racing organization can support these up-and-coming riders. We look forward to all of our competitors and the series as a whole benefiting from his involvement. James will be getting right to work preparing for our first event of 2014 at the Willow Springs Kart Track in Rosamond on April 5 & 6.

Minimoto USA is a racing organization that provides a place for kids and adults to race Minimoto, MiniGP, and asphalt-only Supermoto machines. We welcome all motorcycle racers, from weekend warrior-types to club racers and aspiring professional road racers. For families whose kids are interested in racing motorcycles, we offer a well-thought-out progression that allows them to work their way up on machines that fit them well and have the right amount of power for their size, age, and skill level. There is no other organization in California where a racer can start as young as five years old and have access to this kind of youth development program.

We also offer multiple classes for riders of Supermoto bikes. If you like to have fun and ride motorcycles without triple-digit speeds, these are for you. If you are more serious about your riding, club racers and professional motorcycle road racers alike recognize that Supermoto motorcycles on technical kart tracks are a valuable training tool. They are a great way to develop skills that directly translate to improved riding on the street and the big track.

To complete the package, our staff are highly experienced and make sure every event is run smoothly and professionally. Our rules make sense, and we emphasize safety, training, and good procedures. For beginner and intermediate racers who are still learning the mechanical aspects of their motorcycles, we offer unparalleled track-side support. Just about any part you might need for your Minimoto or MiniGP machine can be found at the track. We also offer everything from expert advice and assistance with motorcycle setup, maintenance, and repair to paid mechanic services.

Check out our schedule at www.minimotousa.com, and come out to one of our events at a track near you to see what we’re all about. We will be racing at tracks all over California, and a good time will be had by all. Minimoto USA was founded by motorcycle racers who love the sport. Come join us and see why we are so passionate about motorcycle road racing in the USA!
