Circuit of The Americas™ announces winners of ‘KiSS’ sustainability social media contest at recent MotoGP™ event

AUSTIN, Texas – In conjunction with Earth Day, April 22, Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is pleased to announce the winners of the Keep it Shiny & Sustainable photo (KiSS) contest held during the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas MotoGP event April 11-13. The contest was part of COTA’s implementation of the Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme’s (FIM) KiSS environmental initiative. Contestants tweeted images of themselves promoting sustainable living behaviors, such as picking up trash, recycling, and using reusable water containers, at COTA during the MotoGP event.

Other components of the KiSS program in Austin included recycling throughout the facility, composting in the main kitchens and food court area, and the use of water bottle refill stations. To recognize COTA as the first circuit in North America to implement this program, COTA Chairman Bobby Epstein was awarded a commemorative plaque by Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider and nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi.

Contest winners were selected jointly by the FIM and COTA and will be awarded limited-edition 2014 Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas ball caps autographed by Rossi. Winning photos and tweets are listed below:
